Okay, the fact that a wine estate passes from one generation to the next is no longer unique, but here it really goes too far. This family business is currently run by the eleventh (!) generation. Wine desire since 1636... that's a bit much. What makes this even more special is that the winery has been run by women for 4 generations. Female power at its best! The vineyards are located in Bernkastel-Kues, Lieser and Brauneberg. The best known is the Berncasteler Dokter, which has been in the family for over 200 years. Terroir and sustainability are the principles by which they cultivate their vineyards. For them, terroir not only means the structure of the soil, but also the restriction to the Riesling grape alone, the climatic conditions of their vineyards, and the work of their team.
