About the producer
Watchman-Wiesler
As early as 2008, at the age of 20, Christoph Wachter began working hard at his father's wine estate, taking full responsibility just two years later. His playground consists of 16 hectares of vineyards in Südburgenland, around the towns of Eisenberg and Deutsch Schützen. From the moment he was at the helm, the use of herbicides and pesticides was out of the question. This made him one of only three producers in Südburgenland who cultivate organically with certification. Like his father and grandfather, he continues to focus on viniferating the classic Blaufränkisch grape from Eisenberg. Their coat of arms shows a dog. And yes, it really exists and is called 'Stoney'. Why? No, the wine doesn't get you stoned... but it has a tendency to dig stones out of the ground. Can you blame him? With a strong nose, you can't help but want to sniff Burgenland's delicious terroir.
