About the producer
Quinta do Passadouro
The Quinta do Passadouro dates back to the 18th century and has always been renowned for its port wines. The estate is located in the top region of Cima Corgo near the village of Pinhão. The more extreme climate - hot during the day, but very cold at night - means that the grapes ripen more slowly than in the other regions of the Douro. This results in harvests of the highest quality. Traditionally, the best vintage and late bottled vintage ports from the renowned port houses come from this area. Due to the steep slopes of slate and the narrow width of the terraces, the grapes can only be picked by hand. The winemakers also work organically and attach great importance to sustainability. This results in wines of a high standard.
