| Vintage info | Fresh vintage, characterized by the availability of water throughout the cycle. Autumn was wet and mild, winter started cold and foggy. February changed this dynamic, with temperatures warmer than normal for this month. In April it rained almost every day, with few dry periods, which delayed budding somewhat. Spring remained warm and the vines, which had water, had an excellent fruit set and a lively development of the shoots and canopy. The harvest began on September 14 and, after a few days interruption due to rain, ended on October 1. |

About the producer
Mariano Garcia
Bodegas Mauro was founded in 1980 by Mariano Garcia, world-renowned as the former winemaker of the famous Vega Sicilia, for 30 years in a row. The estate is located in the historic city of Tudela de Duero, in the heart of the Duero Valley and just 19 km from the provincial capital. The vineyards are spread over 90 hectares, with vines with an average age of 35 years. After Bodegas Mauro, Mariano expanded to San Roman (Toro) in 1997, and then Garmon (Ribera del Duero) in 2014. For each estate, he applies a different approach, starting from respect for the unique characteristics of each area. However, there is always a common thread that runs through all his wines: balance and elegance, with the intention of letting the wine age. It is clear that this man is obsessed with excellence.
