About the producer

Borgo del Tiglio

Some domains are among your all-time favorites, year in, year out. And Borgo del Tiglio, hands down, is one of them! Let's start at the beginning; Friuli, simply the region for white wines in Italy. Then we head towards the Slovenian border, to Collio: the perfect climate, ideal soil (Ponca!) and a huge amount of history and know-how. Thirdly, Borgo del Tiglio's winemaker Nicola Manferrari, the class act of this wine region, à la “Premier Grand Cru Classé A. He distances himself from the powerful, pompous style and focuses mainly on finesse and balance. Perfect dose of fruit concentration, acidity, alcohol, wood and depth. Their entire range belongs to the very best and most complex that Italy has to offer in white. Wines that, when young, only open after a few hours of decanting, and only blossom after a few years of bottle aging. Anyway, an Italophile who misses this wine in his/her wine cellar is in no way defensible!
