About the producer

Castle Conti

The mother and the three Conti sisters have been producing wines for decades in an appellation that, according to insiders, has everything to become one of Italy's new great red DOCs of the future; Boca. This tiny appellation, north of Barolo & Barbaresco, is situated in an old volcanic crater at a hefty altitude of 500 to 700m. The Nebbiolo grape, which here, just like in Carema, goes by Spanna, achieves an absurdly high acidity here, compensated by the fruit concentration and tannins. These Nebbiolos are among the Nebbiolos with the strongest aging potential. Even the entry-level, Origini, could easily be aged for 10 years. The Boca, their flagship, for decades. The latter is an absolute must-have for many Nebbiolo, Barolo & Barbaresco lovers!
