About the producer
Domaine Arlaud
The Arlaud estate positions itself as one of the absolute 'valeurs montantes' of Morey-Saint-Denis. Sister and brother Bertille & Cyprien neatly divide the work between the two of them; Bertille works certified biodynamically in the vineyard (albeit with a horse), Cyprien takes on the role of winemaker. And with verve; for Cyprien, making wine mainly means 'accompanying wine', wine from high-quality and strictly selected fruit, that is. Where in the past, under the father, the wines were still somewhat more dominantly wood-driven, Cyprien now seeks (and finds!) balanced and delicate Pinots in which wood is merely a supporting element. Small warning, these wines need time to develop. Awarded ** in Revue du Vin de France 2023.
