About the producer

David Duband

In our humble opinion, David Duband is one of the great masters of Burgundy, especially in the field of red wine. He calls himself a lazy winemaker, but that is his way of indicating that he leaves the wines alone in the cellar as much as possible. The work is mainly in harvesting perfectly ripe grapes and adjusting the vinification to the quality of the grapes. David always looks for a natural balance and maximum expression of the terroir. This means that he does not extract too much, but vinifies with a light hand. The wooden barrels used for maturation only release limited aromas, and are mainly used for the micro-oxidation of the wines. By working with whole bunches during alcoholic fermentation and maceration, instead of destemmed grapes, the wines generally have more freshness and slightly less alcohol.
