About the producer

Domaine Trapet

Andrée Grayer is her maiden name. Born and raised in Alsace in a family of winemakers and very proud of her origins. Love led her into the arms of the talented Jean-Louis Trapet, fifth generation of the world-famous Domaine Trapet in Gevrey-Chambertin (see our Burgundy section!). She may have given up her name, but she does not give up winemaking. In 2002, Andrée decided to continue her parents' work, so the family travels back and forth. The two sons help out a lot, but the final touch of the vinification is with Andrée. Grayer/Trapet owns 14ha in Riquewihr, including no less than 4 Grand Crus. Love can sometimes be blind (she also makes Pinot Noir and Chardonnay), but it is her Riesling and Gewürztraminer that have stolen our hearts.
