About the producer

Gounel Lassalle

The couple Arnaud (nicknamed 'the winerider' because he is often spotted skating through the vineyards) and Sophie found each other in the midst of their shared passion: adventure and travel. Nevertheless, in 2002 they decided to take over the family domain, the land of Arnaud's grandparents. His first self-vinified vintage was 2018. He surprises us especially by being a bit different, and very terroir-driven!! He had each plot examined for soil composition. When we visited them, he even drank a bit of 'soil' with water to better understand each terroir! He makes each cuvée very meticulously and extremely precisely and he doses each vintage individually, often not even. The intention is to let each champagne reveal all its own characteristics. Of course, this includes a sustainable working method: HVE and VDC certified and in transition to an organic certificate. The result of his deep passion is shown in rich, complex and yet sublimely balanced champagnes. A very welcome newcomer!
