About the producer

Paolo Bea

Umbria is finally getting the attention it deserves, Paolo Bea is making sure of that. This small estate has a legion of loyal fans who eagerly await the new releases every year, because being quick is the message here, they really only produce a small number of bottles. Paolo Bea is the example of a classic Italian fattoria, which produces wine but also works the land to produce olives, fruit and vegetables and keeps farm animals for trade and for their own use. Talk about biodiversity… Of the 15 hectares, only 5 are planted with grapes. Their Arboreus, a wine made from Trebbiano Spoletino, with skin contact, is unique in its kind, simply magnificent! His Cerette, made from the powerful Sagrantino grape, you can forget about in the cellar for decades, there is nothing like it. It stands out because on top of being powerful it is also elegant and complex, with a fruitiness and spiciness that you can say against. Bea also produces a Sagrantino passito, the grapes are dried on mats for 70 days and aged for 4 years in steel tanks. The result is an authentic piece of paradise. Also his Montefalco Sagrantino DOCG seccos, whose appellation was only made official in 1979, are the best of their kind.
