About the producer
Roc des Angez
At the age of 23, Marjorie Gallet was able to buy 10 hectares of vineyards in her beloved Roussillon. Later, she bought another 15 hectares with Mediterranean grape varieties. The vineyards are mainly located on the northern slopes of the Força Réal mountain range. This was a deliberate choice, because the northern slopes are cooler. This produces optimally ripe grapes in the warm, sometimes sizzling Roussillon that generate a lower alcohol content and thus produce more freshness. The average age of the vines is 65 years, some of which are up to 103 years old. Marjorie goes back to basics with respect for nature and the constant search for the most beautiful expression of the soil. She even works with a horse and cart to work the vineyards as naturally as possible. The picking is also done manually and each bunch passes through her hands for inspection. From fermentation onwards, she leaves the wine alone and does not intervene anymore.
