About the producer
Ayunta
This is Ayunta, a family run, small grape farm and winery, with 2.8 hectares of old vineyards, at almost 700 meters above sea level, on the northern slopes of Etna volcano in Sicily. Etna is still active with almost annual eruptions. Their focus is on producing wines with the most accurate personality of the terroir and the indigenous grapes of Etna itself. They work the vineyards by hand, do not use chemicals and only make wines that they fully support in an artisanal way. In their wines they look for elegance, balance and freshness. They describe their terroir as feminine and of course it is influenced by volcanic rocks formed by lava, rocks and ash. This results in a lot of minerality in the taste and aromas.
