Let's get straight to the point: Sherry is (again) hot. From the smallest wine bar in New York's trendiest suburb to a ***-tent in Tokyo: the chance that there won't be Sherry flying around your ears is slim. Very slim. The main reason for that? Two words: Equipo Navazos. Equipo Navazos is the brainchild of Jesús Barquín & Eduardo Ojedo, born in 2005. The gentlemen are almacenistas, in normal human language that means that they source, purchase and bottle Sherry casks. And not just any cask, no. The most exceptional soleras and hidden, sometimes forgotten, pearls pass by the gentlemen's tasting table and are, if not, selected and bottled, albeit in extremely limited quantities. Despite the fact that this project has barely matured, Equipo Navazos is without contradiction (and also without any form of subjectivity) the absolute Premier Grand Cru Classé A in the region. Just ask Luis Gutiérrez, Jancis Robinson, Antonio Galloni or any other Master of Wine in the wine world.
