As early as 1870, Francesco Barale began producing wine in Barolo, which was then just emerging as a wine region in the Langhe. This made him one of the wine pioneers of the now mythical wine region. In the meantime, Sergio Barale continues the tradition, supported by his daughters Eleonora and Gloria, and with many more vineyards in his possession, also in Barbaresco, with a total of approx. 20 hectares. They always strive for a traditional, old-school wine style, but with modernized techniques. Spontaneous undergrowth of the vines, the use of natural fertilizers, manual weeding, and the absence of copper and sulfur treatment products are just some of their practices to protect the native flora and fauna. It is unique to see how family ties, traditions, terroir, assortment and new developments flow so smoothly together.
