About the producer
Karsten Peter
Born as the son of the Castel Peter Winery estate in Pfalz, Karsten Peter set out into the wide world at the age of 30 to gain experience as a winemaker. After just a few years, he was already awarded “Rising Star of the Year” by Gault & Millau and in 2016 by The Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung (the German equivalent of The New York Times) as “Winemaker of the Year”. So no piece of cake... In 2021, Peter took over his parents' estate and renamed it Karsten Peter. He shifted his focus to Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Riesling. What this great gentleman has already proven for other estates, he now proves with even greater dedication in the vineyards of his hometown. We will not be surprised if Crombé achieves even more great things in the coming years.
