Vincent Pinard
The Pinard brothers, Florent & Clement, are the absolute textbook example of why Sancerre as-we-speak performs so strongly. The gentlemen work in a very traditional way. For example, they try to do as much as possible by hand, including the harvest. They also apply biodynamic principles, harvest only at optimum ripeness, and work with low to very low yields. The quality of their wines, including their red Vendange Entières, speaks volumes. The brothers' talent obviously plays a role in this, but the fact that they own some of Sancerre's best climats (such as Chêne Marchand, Grand Chemarin & Petite Chemarin) only strengthens their position. Awarded ** in Revue du Vin de France 2023.
