About the producer
The Crotta of Vegneron
La Crotta di Vegneron was founded in 1980 in Chambave, a small village in the beautiful Alpine landscape of Valle d'Aosta, bordering France and Switzerland. It is a cooperative of local winemakers with deep roots in the mountains. With passion and pride, they sustainably cultivate a range of indigenous vines on their ancient terroir in their unique mountain climate. Their aim is to express the spirit of the mountains as best as possible. The soils of Valle d'Aosta are mainly composed of sand (80%) and silt (20%). Strong mountain winds can drastically reduce the relative humidity of the air. Their slogan is “slope, sun, stone and wind”, which are the pillars of their sustainable viticulture.
